Last week, many in the geosynthetics field were participating in virtual panel discussions and special sessions with the online Geosynthetics Conference. Two geosynthetics business moves were announced during the week, which readers may have missed.

NAUE & PROSÉ JOIN FORCES

NAUE is one of the most diversified manufacturers of geosynthetics in the world, with a large suite of materials produced in Germany and Malaysia. The company’s international network of partners continues to grow with the announcement of a joint venture with Netherlands-based Prosé Geotechniek.

NAUE Prosé will offer the complete range of NAUE products and geosynthetic installation services. Furthermore, the operation will be supported by NAUE’s internal engineering office.

NAUE Group’s Managing Director Alexander Naue hailed the move as “clear signal for our commitment to the Dutch market.” Peter Prosé, who will serve as Sales Director for NAUE Prosé, noted that “being a part of the NAUE group of companies now is a great milestone.”

BONTEXGEO ACQUIRES STRATEX

The BontexGeo Group, an independent producer and distributor of geotextiles selling into 60+ countries around the world, announced its total acquisition of Switzerland-based Stratex SA. Stratex has specialized in the sale of geosynthetic and building products with a focus on Swiss infrastructure.

The deal was finalized on February 17 and announced by BontexGeo a week later.

This acquisition is a next step on our path of growth and to reinforce our position in the market,” said Rob van der Valk, Managing Director of BontexGeo.

The company, which became an independent entity just two years ago, cited 20-year-old Stratex’s strength of reputation, portfolio of materials, and in building markets as reasons for adding it as a key growth piece.

Phillipe Kiener (Stratex President) will remain in his role and the company will retain its name.
