The Great Lakes region shared by the US and Canada suffers from aging sewage infrastructures. Most of the region fails to properly separate stormwater and sewage, and the result is a heavy discharge of untreated sewage into these vital waters. The Sierra Legal Defense Fund has issued a report with grades for and notes about the sewage infrastructure of cities of interest along the Great Lakes. A release is found here and includes a link to the free, downloadable (PDF) report.
