GSI LogoThe Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) is delighted to announce a worldwide call for requests-for-proposals (RFPs) focusing on “innovative” geosynthetics research and development projects. This will be the Second Class of awardees, the first being in 2008. There will be multiple awards made, each for $10,000 per year, and they are renewable, pending an annual written report, to a total amount of $25,000 per student. It is important to note that students must have completed their candidacy examinations leading to a doctorial degree in engineering or science. The proposals must be submitted in the following four page format (with no exceptions):

  • Page 1 – Letter of recommendation from student’s department head or advisor
  • Page 2 – Title and detailed abstract
  • Page 3 – Student’s resume
  • Page 4 – Documentation of completed candidacy examination

The RFPs for the 2009 – 2010 academic years must be submitted to both of the undersigned by e-mail by 15 June 2009 and awards will be announced on or before 1 September 2009. Review of the proposals is by the nine-person Board of Directors of GSI.
