The Isle of Arran, Scotland, is receiving its first geogrid-reinforced road…but crews have encountered some problems in their first foray with the materials. They’ve speculated that the geogrid may have been damaged by heat and traffic during installation, though the Arran Banner article does not make clear whether the traffic was local vehicle traffic, construction traffic, pedestrian, or another source. (It seems to be the journalist’s first exposure to the materials too.)
