Geotextiles Transform Architecture

Flat surfaces and right angles have defined most architecture and have been used primarily to save money. But at the University of Manitoba’s Centre for Architectural Structures and Technology (CAST) they are using geotextiles to create more dynamic and less expensive structure shapes out of concrete. Wood forms would no longer be needed, thus preserving wood resources and freeing up design choices.
