Solvay has announced it will begin using sugar cane in ethylene production at a facility in Brazil. Ethylene is a primary feedstock to a number of plastics and geosynthetics. Modern Plastics Worldwide reports that it would be at least Solvay’s first use of renewable products in feedstock production in the Americas.
