The United States Army Corp of Engineers may need to raise some New Orleans levees to 29 feet in order to properly protect the area from 100-year hurricane events. According to NOLA.com, officials have yet to determine whether rock, geotextile or concrete will provide the best erosion control against waves for the levee upgrades.
