The government of New Zealand hopes to triple the daily production value of the country’s aquaculture industry by 2020. Currently, the industry generates $1 million per day. In support of this, 803 ha have been approved for aquaculture industry development in Kaipara Harbour, Tasmin Bay and Golden Bay.
