Propex Appoints Stan Brant Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

26 August 2008 – Propex Inc. today announced the appointment of Stan Brant as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Propex Inc. Worldwide, effective 18 August 2008.

According to Woody McGee, President and Chief Executive Officer, in order for Propex to successfully emerge from and thrive after Chapter 11, it is mandatory that the company have leaders in place who understand all aspects of the business from sales to operations and can take the company forward in difficult economic times.   

“I’m pleased to announce that Stan has been appointed executive vice president and COO of Propex,” said Mr. McGee. “I’m confident he will help Propex continue to grow and prosper, and his appointment reflects yet another step forward as we prepare to emerge from Chapter 11.”  

Mr. Brant is a seasoned executive at Propex previously responsible for directing all of the company’s geosynthetic, concrete, furnishing and industrial fabrics and fiber manufacturing activities as the company’s executive vice president of operations. Prior to joining Propex, Brant spent 17 years with Duracell, where he held several key manufacturing and engineering management positions and ultimately served as vice president of global engineering for Duracell Batteries.

Mr. Brant earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University, and a master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
