The American White House tends to command the headlines, but there is another, older one in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The site includes the oldest building in the Borough of Newtonabbey. Recent excavations have uncovered a number of artifacts. Below foundation excavation points are currently being preserved with geotextile protective layers. It’s a common use of geotextiles outside of their expected use for separation, erosion control, filtration, drainage and cushioning in civil engineering.
