18 March 2010 – TCL2010–the International Conference on Textile Laminating and Coating–will be held 4-5 November 2010 in Cannes, France. Please note that these are new dates for the event. The theme of the gathering, which will be held at the Novotel Montfleury, will be “An Industry Moving Forward – Focus on the future.

The core of the programme will be presentations by invited experts, but in order to give an opportunity for anyone with exciting and relevant ideas to present to a high-level international audience, a call for papers is being issued for contributions in the following areas, with emphasis on work that will impact the industry, short term as well as the future:

  • Session 1 – The State of the Industry: Talks focused on an overview of the industry covering the depth of the industry, the economic outlook, global developments that will affect the industry, and environmental and regulatory issues.
  • Session 2 – Techniques and Materials: Presentations that focus on machinery and techniques such as new, more efficient production equipment, adhesive/bonding systems, developments in polymers, plasma and other treatments, and techniques for extreme properties.
  • Session 3 – Technology for Growth: Topics including nanotechnology, antimicrobial/antibacterial, smart/intelligent coatings, green technology for coating and laminating, conducting materials, developments in surface modifications, self decontaminating, self-repair, treatments for improved properties, etc.
  • Session 4 – Future Opportunities: Focusing on developing markets and applications such as solar/thermal, fuel cells, medical/biotechnology, leisure, commercial, extreme materials and “out of this world” potential.

Selection of the papers to be presented will be based on abstracts of 300-500 words. Authors should emphasize new and significant findings/developments.

Abstracts must be received before 24 April 2010.

Selected presenters will qualify for a discounted registration rate at the meeting (speaker only).The abstract must include the name, company or other affiliation, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address and mailing address of the speaker and/or the person to whom correspondence about the abstract should be directed. Only one speaker per presentation will be allowed, though co-authors may be listed. The speaker for the paper should be underlined.

All presentations should be planned to run approximately 25 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.

Though electronic submission (email) is preferred, the abstract may also be sent by fax to the symposium director (contact information follows).
