Heavy construction has started on the Utah Transit Authority’s $300 million, six-mile light-rail track that will finally connect downtown Salt Lake City and the city’s international airport.
Crews will soon install separation geotextiles to improve the subgrade’s performanc. Reclaimed concrete aggregate will be installed over the geotextile layer. Atop that: thousands of truckloads of soil and ballast.
