Brampton, Ontario, Canada – The Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) is very pleased to announce the details for a very unique facility tour in Southern Ontario and New York State to visit various waste management facilities. There will be seven facilities on the tour representing new and innovative technologies and/or management practices.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A PASSPORT FOR CROSSING THE BORDER
This tour is a must for those waste managers or regulators interested in the evolving nature of waste disposal and energy recovery. Space is limited and available on a first come basis with preference given to OWMA and SWANA members. The tour will visit the following facilities between 29 and 30 September 2009:
- Ontario County Landfill – Casella Waste Systems Inc., Stanley NY
- Modern Landfill Inc. – Modern Corporation, Model City, NY
- Modern Corporation Single Stream Recycling Facility – Buffalo, NY
- Niagra Waste Systems Landfill – Walker Industries, Thorold, Ontario
- Seneca Meadows Landfill – IESI Corp./BFI Canada Inc., Waterloo, NY
- High Acres Landfill – Waste Management Inc., Perinton, NY
- Covanta Energy Corporation – Niagara Falls, NY
