DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibilities of an Estimator include:
- Provide daily estimate coordination and production in the areas of lead development, estimating and estimating follow-up within the Geosynthetic Division:
- Organize and manage system to develop and track potential leads through to proposal stage
- Acquire bid packages, review of project specifications and contract documents performing quantity take-offs, material determination, procurement of material pricing, and final cost estimating in a fast paced environment.
- Prepare accurate and detailed bid proposals on projects across the United States
- Attend project estimating meetings
- Generate panel layout drawings, record drawings and all other AutoCAD tasks.
- Work closely with employees focusing on expanding the TEAM environment within the entire Company from bid stage to support through a project.
- Influence the Company’s future work by creating positive experiences and long term relationships with clients and engineering firms.
- Posses the ability to complete multiple tasks in an aggressive timeframe and fast paced environment
Requirements
General Abilities:
- BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Previous field experience is preferred.
- Travel is required at times, approximately 10%
- Complete the USEPA HAZWOPER, 40-hour, environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes
- Ability to coordinate and work within groups of people
- Possess a valid driver license.
- Pass a company drug screening.
- Must be available to work overtime, as required.
- Must be able to communicate with clients and peers in a professional manner.
Technical Aptitude
- An Estimator must have the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, as well as complete paperwork in a legible, organized manner.
- Must be experienced with various computer software including AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
- Must be able to read and understand project specifications and construction drawings pertaining to the geosynthetic industry.
