American Environmental GroupRICHFIELD, Ohio – American Environmental Group Ltd (AEG) of Richfield, Ohio, announced yesterday that it has been acquired by Pasadena, California-based Tetra Tech. AEG, which in just 10 years has grown to become one of the largest specialty environmental design, construction, and maintenance companies in the United States, will join Tetra Tech’s Remediation and Construction Management (RCM) segment.

In his press release announcing the acquisition, Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s Chairman and CEO stated: “Together with AEG, we can provide engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) solutions for industrial clients. These clients include landfill operators, as well as mining and power clients that face specialty disposal challenges. Service to solid waste and utility clients, which is less susceptible to economic volatility, has been a steady and growing part of Tetra Tech’s business.”

With multiple offices around the United States and more than 500 personnel in the field, AEG’s growth has accelerated considerably in the past three years. Recent, complementary acquisitions in the geosynthetics installation and power management and supply markets have broadened the company’s client base and enhanced client support and responsiveness.

According to Carl Apicella, AEG’s President, “Several years ago, the leadership team at AEG initiated a focused search for the ideal partner to help continue our very successful growth pattern, while enhancing our service offerings to our growing customer base. We found the ideal partnership with Tetra Tech. We are proud to become a Tetra Tech company and excited for the future.”

AEG retains its core leadership and experts, and it will continue to operate under its own name, in line with other construction and engineering-related Tetra Tech companies.
