Update from the ArcelorMittal Landfill Public Discussion

Though Steve Putrich, a landfill engineer with the consulting firm of CEC, outlined the basics of the landfill construction at Wednesday’s meeting about ArcelorMittal’s proposed steel production waste landfill, public opposition was not abated. While the liner and cap system will well exceed state regulations, the company has been evasive about the nature of the waste intended for the landfill.
