Work has started on Qatar Petrochemical Company’s new low-density polyethylene (LDPE-3) plant in Mesaieed Industrial City, the Peninsula has reported. The QR2bn LDPE-3 plant is designed to annually produce 300,000 metric tonnes (MT) of low-density polyethylene which will add to the 400,000 MTA output of Qapco’s two existing LDPE production lines, bringing the total LDPE capacity to some 700,000 MTA.
