Geo-Frontiers 201122 February 2010 – Students are invited to submit abstracts for publication in the conference proceedings and presentation during Geo-Frontiers 2011. Papers of interest include new research, design initiatives and innovative geosynthetic solutions. Five students will be selected as finalists for the Geosynthetics Student Paper Competition and will receive the following rewards:

  • Winner: $500 award and $250 travel expense
  • Runners-up: $250 award and $250 travel expense

Please review the Student Paper Guidelines and submit your abstract by 8 March 2010.

GUIDELINES

A Geosynthetics Student Paper Competition Committee will review all submitted abstracts and select the 10 best abstracts to proceed to submitting a paper. Five of the authors from the papers submitted will be invited to present their work during a special geosynthetics student paper session at Geo-Frontiers 2011, 13-16 March 2011 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel Dallas, Texas.

The final awarded paper will achieve the highest review scores based on originality, completeness, clarity of the presentation, and contribution to the profession. The winner of the Geosynthetics Student Paper Competition will receive a $500 award and $250 travel expense, compliments of the North American Geosynthetics Society (NAGS).

To be eligible to enter into the Geosynthetics Student Paper Competition, students must be registered full-time in an engineering program during the current academic year. Papers should represent the student’s original research. Professors are allowed as coauthors.
