While bioreactor landfills can be a very beneficial and successful endeavor, Cumberland County, New Jersey has experienced one contracting mishap after another. Companies have won bids and gone out of business. Another has shuttered its waste management division–without completing its contracted work. It’s an unfortunate case for what was once a hopeful project and involves some good companies too; but the overall situation has been extraordinarily unlucky.
