Geosynthetics Middle East2 November 2010 – Under the patronage of Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, the 3rd International Conference “Geosynthetics Middle East 2010” is taking place in the capital city Abu Dhabi on 9th and 10th of November 2010. Organized by the leading Plastic Institute SKZ Germany in cooperation with its local partner BMC Gulf, the conference is expected to become the biggest event on Geosynthetics in the Middle East and is attracting industry experts worldwide.

Geosynthetics Middle EastEngineer Abdullah Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Infrastructure and Municipal Infrastructure Sector (ADM), describes the Conference as a highly attractive platform for geotechnical and environmental specialists to exchange their knowledge and experience. He says: “Geosynthetic materials are used in nearly every construction project and are significant for the performance of a structure. We are always looking for the best technology according to the highest engineering standards. We strongly believe that the Geosynthetics Middle East 2010 will contribute to the quality of the construction projects throughout the UAE, increasing their value and considerably extending their service life.”

According to Reda Ashkar, Conference Chairman and General Manager at BMC Gulf, the Geosynthetics Middle East 2010 will be the biggest event on geosynthetics within the region, looking at the current bookings so far.

In the conference, key industry experts will present application and case studies on topics such as environmental protection, water reservoirs, dam construction, tunneling, roads, landfills and marine structures to an international audience.
