The 13th International Waste Management and Landfill Symposium (Sardinia 2011) will be held 3-7 October 2011 in Santa Margherita di Pula, Sardinia Italy. In the latest update from the conference organizers, it has been announced that seven tracks will run concurrently:

  • Two general session
  • Three specialized sessions
  • Two workshop sessions

While the conference’s primary language is English, this year’s Sardinia Symposia will include a special session that will be conducted entirely in Italian, in order to focus on local professionals and officials. This is the second time the event has incorporated an Italian-language session.

The organizers report that roughly 800 abstracts from 75 nations were received. In addition to the session, poster presentations will also be included in the event.

PRE-CONFERENCE TRAINING

The International Waste Working Group (IWWG) will conduct four training courses ahead of Sardinia 2011. These courses will focus on composting, landfill gas management, design criteria for innovative landfills and treatment of landfill leachate.
