ASTM International23 June 2010 — ASTM International Committee D35 on Geosynthetics has announced a number of interesting work items, in the wake of the recent meeting in St. Louis:

  • WK29211, “Standard Test Method for Measuring the Nominal Thickness of Geosynthetics.” It is a work item revision to existing standard D5199-01(2006)
  • WK29174 is a work item revision of D7001 – 06, “Standard Specification for Geocomposites for Pavement Edge Drains and Other High-Flow Applications.”
  • WK29175 is a work item revision of D6088 – 06, “Standard Practice for Installation of Geocomposite Pavement Drains.”
  • WK29191 is a work item revision of D5101 – 01(2006), “Standard Test Method for Measuring the Soil-Geotextile System Clogging Potential by the Gradient Ratio.”
  • WK29201 is a work item for “New Test Method for Flexural Rigidity of Geogrids, Geotextiles and Related Products.”

Also, Committee D18 on Soil and Rock has issue two items of note:

  • WK29134 is a work item for “New Terminology for Hydraulically-applied Erosion Control Product (HECP)”
  • D7014 is a revised standard, “Standard Practice for Assembly and Placement of Double-Twisted Wire Mesh Gabions and Revet Mattresses.”
