Frontier Refining has entered into a $900,000 settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for violations at one of its wastewater ponds. Kevin Burke, vice president and refinery manager at Frontier, said the settlement came after the EPA claimed $6.8 million in violations. Burke indicated the pond will be modified so that it can be closed, thus creating no future issues. The refinery also has installed a barrier wall in working with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.
