American Environmental Group - AEGL24 May 2010 – American Environmental Group Ltd. (AEGL), an expert installer of geosynthetic materials, has been re-certified with the Approved Installation Contractor (AIC) status from the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGI). AEGL is one of eight US-based Approved Installation Contractors and has held AIC status since 2007.

The AIC program status is awarded annually to geosynthetic installation companies that meet requirements in areas of corporate history and business practices, insurance verification, safety training, and professional competence and experience. Some of the third-party-verified requirements include a minimum of 5,000,000 square feet of geosynthetics installed annually; secure bonding ability; proof of general liability, worker’s compensation, and automobile liability insurance; a safety training program; letters of reference from engineers, contractors and manufacturers dated within 12 months of program status (re-)application; and more.

“Our clients expect the highest level of quality and professionalism on each and every project, from each and every crew,” says AEGL’s Chris Eichelberger. “A commitment to maintain AIC status and employ IAGI certified welding technicians strengthens our drive for quality, safety, and professional practice within the industry.”

Approved Installation Contractor - IAGIThe AIC program establishes a minimum level of professionalism, ethics and business practices. It provides an easily recognized measure of quality for engineers, contractors and facility owners, when they are specifying work for bid. Current AIC status can be verified through the IAGI website: www.iagi.org.

To date, AEGL has installed hundreds of millions of square feet of geosynthetic liner material. The company’s extensive work portfolio includes major projects such as 2009’s well-publicized success of the solar-powered cap on the Tessman Road Landfill in San Antonio, Texas.
