A geosynthetic tube erosion-prevention scheme in the Lakhimpur part of India is behind schedule and, officials estimate, might not be completed before the rain season. This would be a setback, as riverbank erosion has been severe causing before environmental harm and shipping interruptions. The reconstructed banks and dunes have so far used more than 1200 geosynthetic tubes.
