Imad Al-QadiProfessor Imad Al-Qadi, currently the Founder Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, has been named a Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Prof. Al-Qadi is one of 13 ASCE members to earn this honor of distinction in 2010.

Among his many career milestones is his work with geosynthetics, including his founding of the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Subcommittee AFS70-2 on Geosynthetics in Flexible Pavement Systems.

By ASCE’s rules, nominations for Distinguished Member status are taken every year, but at most only one recipient may be named for every 7,500 members.
