In June 2013, Maccaferri, Inc. will be opening a new 49,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Sacramento, California area, which is more than double the Company’s current space. Located in the McClellan Business Park, formerly the McClellan Air Force Base, the new facility offers convenient access to major interstates and highways.
The larger space will accommodate an additional production line for Double Twist Mesh, which will also produce Rock Mesh® HR (High Resistance), Maccaferri’s newest rockfall protection product. This new line is expected to require additional personnel, which will create more employment opportunities for the residents of California. Other benefits of the new location include increased warehouse storage and improved office space.
Logistically, the new location will allow Maccaferri to better service rockfall prone areas with improved delivery times, reduced shipping costs, and a full range of their expansive portfolio of rockfall products currently offered. It will serve as a centralized hub fully dedicated to the rockfall protection business. The new location will also allow for storage of Maccaferri Wirand® Steel Fibers, used in pre-cast concrete, industrial flooring, and tunneling applications. The new facility is located at 4242 Forcum Avenue, Suite 400, in McClellan, California 95652.
An opening celebration of Maccaferri’s new production facility is planned to take place in July. In attendance will be Mr. Alessandro Maccaferri, Chairman-President, Officine Maccaferri, Mr. Marco Finelli, Group Executive Director, Officine Maccaferri, and Mr. Paolo Raponi, C.E.O. North America and President USA.
