On the heels of the June ASTM International Committee Week meetings in Indianapolis, a number of new and revised standards and work items have been announced by Committees D35 on Geosynthetics and D18 on Soil and Rock.
While D18 has withdrawn a few items, we include here only one work item from that committee: a work item related to rolled erosion control products (RECPs). D35’s announcement mostly pertain to new and revised standards, with liner integrity surveys, geofoam, paving mats, geogrids and more addressed.
The following updates stem from ASTM announcements posted June 27, July 8, July 11, and July 15.
D35 New & Revised Standards
D6574/D6574M – Standard Test Method for Determining the (In-Plane) Hydraulic Transmissivity of a Geosynthetic by Radial Flow has been revised (with designation change) to D6574/D6574M-13 developed by Committee D35.03.
D6747 – Standard Guide for Selection of Techniques for Electrical Detection of Leaks in Geomembranes has been revised (with title change) to D6747-12 developed by Committee D35.10.
D7180/D7180M – Standard Guide for Use of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Geofoam in Geotechnical Projects has had a change in designation. The new designation is D7180/D7180M-05(2013)e1 developed by Committee D35.03.
D7239 – Standard Specification for Hybrid Geosynthetic Paving Mat for Highway Applications has been revised to D7239-13 developed by Committee D35.03.
D7557/D7557M – Standard Practice for Sampling of Expanded Polystyrene Geofoam Specimens has been reapproved (with editorial change), available as D7557/D7557M-09(2013)e1 developed by Committee D35.03.
