The Association of Geohazard Professionals held its first meeting. This group will serve the gap in the North American market for geohazards-related education, standardization, regulation, etc.

Australia Geosynthetics - SolmaxVarennes, QC – Solmax will present at the Heap Leach Solutions 2013 conference in Vancouver, Canada on September 24, 2013 at 1:50 pm. Robert Denis (Vice President – Product Engineering, Solmax) will present a technical paper written in collaboration with Daniel Tan (Senior Technical Director, Solmax) on linear low density polyethylene geomembranes (LLDPE) for cold climate mining applications.
Mathieu Cornellier, Solmax’s new Technical Manager (Americas, Africa and Europe), will also be at the show and will be available to answer questions and will have information on all of our products.
The event attracts professionals engaged in the development, design, construction and operation of heap leach projects. The conference provides a forum for scientists and engineers to share technologies, practices and advances for establishing successful heap leach projects for a range of minerals in a variety of different climates. Mining companies, consulting and engineering companies, regulatory personnel and the financial institutions will participate and share their technical expertise. Topics covered at the event include hydrometallurgy, process engineering, geotechnical and hydrogeological engineering, hydrology, water treatment and reclamation.
