Mattex Geosynthetics
Mattex’s new facility in Al Jubail has the capacity to produce 50,000,000 m sq. of geotextile in weights 70 – 1200 gsm.

Mattex Geosynthetics started successfully its new nonwoven geotextile line in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The newly created company is a vertically integrated ultra-modern production facility within the fast-growing Mattex Group. Mattex Geosynthetics specializes in the manufacturing of high-tenacity polypropylene, needlepunched and thermally-bonded geotextiles.
The new state-of-the-art nonwoven production facility is located in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the biggest polypropylene raw material manufacturers in the world.
Mattex Geosynthetics targets the top end of the market. Extensive research resulted in the offering of a wide range of woven and nonwoven geotextiles. Mattex supports the evolution within the geotextiles market which focuses on performance/unit weight versus weight-based nonwovens. This results in significant savings in raw materials, transport and installation costs and improvements of construction. The nonwoven geotextiles market is becoming more mature and the reduction of carbon footprint is also high on Mattex’s agenda.

Mattex is producing needlepunched and thermally-bonded geotextiles in KSA. The company is also working on a USD $60 million production facility in the US state of Georgia to begin operation in 2014.

The production of GeoMatt nonwovens started in in August 2013 and Mattex has the ambition to expand and diversify further its activities.
Mattex announced earlier this year the construction of its first expansion outside the Middle East with a USD $60 million production facility in Georgia, United States.
