AEG Award, Palo Verde, APS
Arizona Public Service recognized AEG for its exceptional work at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.

American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEG) was recognized by Arizona Public Service (APS) as an Outstanding Business Partner and received the 2013 Supplier of Year Award for their outstanding work performed at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Topanah, Arizona.
“We are extremely honored to be recognized by Arizona Public Service as their Supplier of the Year. APS’s uncompromising performance standards, including their expectations for an absolute commitment to safety on the part of their suppliers, has enhanced our efforts to be both a safer and better company,” says Carl Apicella, President of AEG. “We have learned and adopted many practices from the dedicated staff at the Palo Verde facility, and we appreciate having the opportunity to work alongside all of them.”
In 2012, APS spent $1.2 billion with more than 4,000 different business partners. APS recognized SIX companies for delivering exceptional value to APS and its customers, while exhibiting a strong commitment to the company’s core values. AEG received the award for Supplier of the Year in the Generation Services category.
Since 2005, AEG has provided extensive geosynthetic installation services the Palo Verde facility, working over 200,000 man-hours without a lost-time accident, including 70,000 man hours in 2013.
“Through their actions, these companies have demonstrated a dedication to customer service and a commitment to providing additional value to their relationship with APS,” said Barbara Gomez, APS Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer.
As noted in the APS recognition, “American Environmental Group (AEG) consistently meets the needs and expectations of APS while achieving results that exceed industry standards. Working closely with APS engineers and an independent quality contractor, AEG developed a system to improve the process for welding two sheets of liner material together. The result: enhanced quality and increased cost-effectiveness of the plastic liner installation project at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.”
