CQA Solutions, Zero-Leak LinersThe dream of zero-leak liners has become a reality. While many geosynthetic containment systems have been installed and produced a zero-leak final product, this type of performance is not typical. In fact, a certain amount of leakage is expected and accounted for in proper geosynthetic designs.
At Geosynthetics Mining Solutions 2014 (September 10 – 13, Vancouver), Glen W. Toepfer of CQA Solutions, will share new thinking on the standard of acceptable leakage. Glen is co-author of a paper that demonstrates how a zero-leak liner system was obtained at the 136-million-square-foot geosynthetics installation at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) in Arizona, and how this can become the industry norm.
