The Erosion Control Technology Council has announced the results of its recent election, which determined the 2015 – 2016 term ECTC Board of Directors. Diane Hitt (East Coast Erosion Blankets, LLC) was elected Chairman.
For Hitt, it marks another significant milestone in just the past 12 months. She was honored in early 2014 with a Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Award and was named East Coast’s President in August.
“ECTC has played a big role in establishing standards for the rolled and hydraulic erosion control products [sector] as well as for sediment retention fiber roll products,” Hitt said in an official statement from the Council. “I look forward to leading this group and I am grateful for the support of my fellow members.”
Joining her on the Board are:
- Vice Chairman: Jerry Bohannon (American Excelsior Co.)
- Secretary/Treasurer: Jeff Ward (Central Fiber LLC)
- At-Large Director: Tim Lancaster (North American Green)
- At-Large Director: Scott Harrison (Terra Novo)
Laurie Honnigford continues in her role as ECTC’s Executive Director. In a release about the new Board’s election, Honnigford referred to “an exciting new chapter for ECTC. The members have elected a dedicated group of professionals who have the talent and industry knowledge to advance ECTC.”
Historically, the ECTC has worked to create practical standards and tools for design engineers, contractors, specifiers, and other project stakeholders.
Tim Lancaster, it must be noted, has played an essential leadership role in ECTC’s development for 10+ years. His work, along with the work of his ECTC colleagues, have had a notable impact on the profession.
