GeoAmericas 2016
Loews Miami Beach - GeoAmericas 2016
The quadrennial Pan-American conference on geosynthetics—GeoAmericas 2016—is an event from the International Geosynthetics Society. As a result, IGS Corporate Members have had an exclusive window in which to request booths and sponsorships during a pre-sale period. That window has just concluded, and over the next week the organizers will confirm those booth placements and sponsorships. On May 21, they will fully open sales of booths and sponsorships to the larger engineering community. The registration page will launch on the event website at that time.
GeoAmericas 2016 will be held 10 – 13 April 2016 in Miami.
Companies interested in exhibiting or sponsorship at the event can review the brochure for a rundown of its unique opportunities and the layout of the Loews Hotel exhibit hall (which features a window wall overlooking Miami’s iconic South Beach).
EVENT OPPORTUNITIES
GeoAmericas 2016 will be guided by a sustainability and community development mission. Electronic sharing of information will be emphasized, with tools such as an event web app being deployed to connect attendees and companies. It will give exhibitors a convenient way to share information without attendees having to carry home so much paper.
Event lanyards will not be the traditional corporate branded item. Rather, GeoAmericas 2016 will put lanyard sponsorship on the badges and instead of a traditional lanyard will use the sponsorship money to acquire handmade necklaces from a small business in Haiti. These necklaces will subsequently be able to be reused or gifted by attendees.
Haiti is integrally tied to the event. A school and orphanage construction project is being partially funded directly by the three tiers of major sponsorships (Silver, Gold, and Platinum). Geosynthetics are being used in the work in Charlier, Haiti, and sponsor companies will be invited to join the crew on site as well as have rights to reuse the promotion video being shot during the construction and which will feature geosynthetics.
Additional exhibit and sponsorship opportunities include:

  • A sponsored cocktail reception in the exhibit hall on the opening night
  • Coffee breaks in the exhibit hall
  • A closing day breakfast in the exhibit hall
  • Room key card sponsorship

To date, more than 40 countries have been represented in the abstracts and pre-sale booth and sponsorship requests.
