Titan Environmental Containment Continues to Strengthen Business

In a little under a decade of operation, Manitoba-headquartered Titan Environmental Containment has built a strong team and reputation, with operations expanding to cover all of Canada and the United States. Titan’s portfolio of geosynthetics and steel tanks and its deeply experience installation team have given it important supply and installation contracts in mining, oil and gas, agriculture, environmental protection, and transportation.
A profile writer with Halifax-based magazine Business in Focus checked in with Titan’s leadership team to learn more about the company’s steady development. The experience of the founders encompasses many sides of the field.
CEO Brett Burkhard, for example, studied business but worked in construction and then in the pipe industry during difficult economic cycles. A later position led him into geosynthetics, and, eventually, to found Titan along with President Kelly Sitarz and Vice President Ron Skobutan.

Titan helped build its business by becoming a Prairie-based business that has grown outward towards the coasts—the reverse of the traditional business focus in Canada.
From an initial footprint in agriculture (e.g., bolted steel tanks, secondary containment), the company grew into wastewater, mining, oil and gas, transportation infrastructure, and other key sectors in high demand of support in central Canada.
Today, the company has a broad portfolio of work throughout North America, offices in the US and Canada, more than 60 full-time employees, and 40+ seasonal and contract employees to service the diverse applications in which Titan works.
