Loews Miami Beach - GeoAmericas 2016
After years of planning, the organizers of GeoAmericas 2016 are enjoying the event’s transition into the active phases of interaction with authors, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. More than 400 submissions for the technical program were received, the conference has opened its event-specific hotel registration block, and more than 60% of the exhibit space on the main floor sold out as sales for booths and sponsorship opened.
The 3rd Pan-American Conference on Geosynthetics, to be held 10 – 13 April 2016 in Miami, is off to a great start.
400 SUBMISSIONS
The conference technical committee has been busy evaluating proposals from throughout the Americas and around the world. More than 400 submissions were received for the technical session and short course consideration. Authors and instructors have been contacted, short course contracts have been sent out, and expected authors are at work on their paper drafts.
These submissions will fill the 56 hours of short course programming on April 10 and the 50 90-minute technical sessions, panel discussions, and training lectures on April 11 – 13.
Papers are due by 3 August 2015, at which time the technical committee will take of review towards final versions.
Full registration for attendees will open 10 August 2015—exactly 8 months ahead to the conference’s opening remarks.
STRONG EXHIBIT SALES
As exhibit and sponsorship sales opened, more than 60% of the space was snapped up, including all of the pre-set double and quad booth spaces. (Some side-by-side single booths are still available.) Companies interested in being part of the international trade show, show guide, and sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to secure their spaces soon.
NOTE: Sponsors also have the unique opportunity to be part of the Charlier, Haiti infrastructure project that will utilize geosynthetics. This project, which offers a tax-deductible benefit for participating companies, is one of the many unique aspects to the execution of GeoAmericas 2016.
