International Packaging Products Pvt. Ltd (IPP), a wholly owned InterWrap Inc. company (now part of Owens Corning), has received GAI-LAP laboratory accreditation for its Silvassa, India location. In an announcement about the achievement, InterWrap noted that it is the first company in India to have received GAI-LAP accreditation in a manufacturing facility.

It is also, according to the company, one of only six manufacturing locations in the Asia-Pacific region to hold the designation.

Interwrap Earns GAI-LAP Laboratory Accreditation in India

The Geosynthetic Accreditation Institute – Laboratory Accreditation Program (GAI-LAP), part of the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI), ensures that laboratories are capable of properly performing consensus standardized test methods, insofar as equipment, documentation and testing protocol are concerned.

Only about 80 labs throughout the world hold GAI-LAP accreditation right now.
In addition to maintaining proper equipment, documentation, and protocols in its testing laboratory, Interwraps notes that its India location will keep a quality manual, write test-specific standard operating procedures, and prepare test reports for each test method on an ongoing basis for which accreditation is desired.

IPP, established in 2002, operates two manufacturing plants in Silvassa. Primary production activities concern barrier geosynthetics for water retention, pond and canal lining, oil and gas liners, heavy duty liners for environmental protection, landfill covers, and other containment applications.

InterWrap manufactures and distributes extrusion-coated woven solutions and diverse multilayer laminated reinforced plastic substrates globally. The company has production facilities located in Asia, Europe, North America, and the South Pacific.
