In addition to its large geosynthetics supply and installation business, Titan Environmental Containment has a well-established construction side. The company’s construction experience led it to build one of Canada’s largest aluminum geodesic domes.
The company’s construction work has often been in regards to large tanks, such as for agricultural applications or bulk liquid storage. In Alberta, that experience was drawn to construct the 46 m (150 ft) high dome, which featured a 111 m (364 ft) span. The structure sits on a concrete footing and provides weatherproof storage for dry lime used in cement manufacturing.

OTHER TITAN TIMES HIGHLIGHTS
This latest issue of Titan Times serves as a good conversation starter for the company’s presence at GeoAmericas 2016, the 3rd Pan-American Conference on Geosynthetics (10 – 13 April 2016, Miami). Titan will exhibit at the show in Booth #8.
The company’s VP of Global Business Development – Geosynthetics, Sam Bhat, will also present at the conference on “Design and Construction of Lining System for a Coke Landfill.” He will be part of an April 12 barriers session.
The Pan-American gathering will provide a nice setting in which Titan’s team can introduce its TE-FG Fiberglass Geogrid, which is now being offered in Mexico. Designed for road reinforcement, the company sees strong opportunity in Mexico and other Latin American countries that experience road deterioration due to weak and saturated sub-base soils. The product’s release is noted in the Titan Times issue.
Related, the company has brought to market its new TE-FGC, a geogrid composite with reinforcement and filtration properties. The high modulus polymer-coated bi-axial fiberglass geogrid is bonded to 150gsm nonwoven polypropylene geotextile. Its design provides structural reinforcement for asphalt and a continuous water deforming barrier.
