These sessions will present state of practice solutions and state-of-the-art ideas to enrich engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
The full GeoAmericas 2016 conference–the 3rd Pan-American Conference on Geosynthetics–will be held April 10 – 13.
In addition to the papers noted below, GeoAmericas 2016 will include:

  • A keynote address on “Stabilization of Paved Roads Using Geosynthetics” (the 2015/2016 Mercer Lecture, to be delivered by Dr. Jorge Zornberg, P.E.)
  • A panel discussion on advancing design concepts with geosynthetics led by FHWA’s Mike Adams
  • Training lectures on embankments on soft soils; reinforced pavements; and utilization of GeoTechTools for transportation applications
  • Short courses on low-volume roads; FHWA’s GRS-IBS approach; and MSE wall design and inspection
  • Affiliated technical sessions focused on reinforced walls (23 presentations), ground improvement (11), drainage and filtration (15), testing of geosynthetic materials (17), and sustainability (7)
  • An international exhibit hall with manufacturers and service providers who supply transportation projects from northern Canada to the southern tip of South America
