WINFAB Geotextiles - GAI-LAP AccreditationWINFAB Geotextiles - GAI-LAP AccreditationWillacoochee Industrial Fabrics (WINFAB), a manufacturer of geotextiles and erosion control materials, has earned accreditation from the Geosynthetic Accreditation Institute – Laboratory Accreditation Program (GAI-LAP). The program is highly respected in the international geosynthetics manufacturing and testing fields.
George Koerner of the Geosyntietic Institute (GSI) conducted the GAI-LAP audit of WINFAB’s laboratory program, which supports quality control in its manufacturing.
The company is excited to add this achievement alongside its participation in the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (NTPEP), which is overseen by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
“This is WINFAB’s continued commitment to provide the highest quality geotextile products to the industry,” said Eric Booth, Vice President of WINFAB.
The Geosynthetic Accreditation Institute – Laboratory Accreditation Program (GAI-LAP), part of the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI), ensures that laboratories are capable of properly performing consensus standardized test methods, insofar as equipment, documentation and testing protocol are concerned.
Currently, only 85 labs throughout the world hold GAI-LAP accreditation.
WINFAB’s GAI-LAP status will serve to enhance its products in civil engineering and soil stabilization, he said. Applications of note will deal with separation, filtration, reinforcement, and erosion control.
The company markets woven and nonwoven geotextiles, turbidity barriers, silt and barrier fences, ground cover, geogrids, turf reinforcement mats, sand bags, and jute and coir products.
