WELDING GEOSYNTHETICS

Quality welds between geomembrane panels are essential to the integrity of many civil engineering applications. These include tunnel sealing, landfill containment systems, mine tailings ponds, and much more.

Leister is a global company with more than 60 years of experience. It produces a number of well-known extrusion and wedge welding eqiupment for factory or field fabrication of geosynthetics. Key brands include TRIAC hot air tools and welders such as the COMET, ASTRO, and TWINNY lines.

The newest line added to the field by Leister is GEOSTAR, a mid-size, lightweight welder with cast aluminum frame. The GEOSTAR digital display delivers the essential weld parameters for ensuring integrity: heat, speed, pressure, and supply voltage. Important to it design and for geosynthetic installers, the GEOSTAR wedge can be removed and replaced in less than a minute. The equipment is available in a standard GEOSTAR G5 model and the extended-wedge GEOSTAR G7 model.

Leister USA (www.leisterusa.com) is a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Leister Technologies AG.
