The Russian geosynthetics market has attracted a lot of interest, but its intricacies require, like many international markets, a real, local presence. The international geosynthetics manufacturing group HUESKER is bolstering its brand in the region with the establishment of a manufacturing center for HUESKER Russia. The ribbon was cut for the site on March 29 in Klin, Russia.
The HUESKER Russia subsidiary was established in 2013. Manufacturing now, approximately 80 km northwest of Moscow, brings the operation into its own.
“We believe there is even greater potential for our products and system solutions in the Russian market,” says HUESKER Group Managing Director Dr. F.- Hans Grandin. “Particularly in the roads and pavements segment, but also in the field of earthworks and foundations as well as hydraulic and environmental engineering, we have completed a number of very successful projects in the last few years. The ability to manufacture many of our products locally will now enable us to respond even more quickly and flexibly to individual, project-specific requirements.”
The 5,000 m² factory is focused on producing the company’s major geotextile brands, such as HaTelit®, Basetrac®, and Stabilenka®.
Dr. F.-Hans Grandin attended the geosynthetics manufacturing plant’s grand opening, accompanied by the Russian subsidiary’s Managing Director Stanislav Khmelnitskiy, and Klin Mayor Alyona Sokolskaya.
“We are glad that foreign investment is continuing to flow into the economy of the surrounding area,” says Sokolskaya. “What’s more, this is a unique chance for the whole region to raise the standard of its road building.”
