The Indian geosynthetics manufacturing industry has grown substantially in recent years, both for domestic projects and exports. Strata, which is well-known internationally for its reinforcement and load support geosynthetics, has been part of the country’s rapid rise in geosynthetics. In early 2019, Strata unveiled a new production center in Daheli. Now, it has announced that it has been awarded the Geosynthetic Accreditation Institute – Laboratory Accreditation Program (GAI-LAP) certification for the manufacturing of StrataGrid™ (flexible PET geogrids) and StrataWeb® (geocell).
GAI-LAP accreditation is overseen by the independent Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) and designates that products and services meet the needs of customers through an effective and consistent quality management system.
Strata is now one of only a handful of producers in India to receive GAI-LAP accreditation.

GAI-LAP ACCREDITATION & STRATA
The Geosynthetic Accreditation Institute confers accreditation to laboratories proving compliance with equipment and documentation for specific standardized test methods (e.g., ASTM, ISO). Also, GAI-LAP verifies that an effective quality system exists by way of proficiency in testing. Approximately 100 commercial and in-house quality control laboratories around the world currently hold the accreditation.
Strata’s new production center, which has earned the GAI-LAP mark, is the largest manufacturing site in the country for geogrid reinforcement material. It features new-generation equipment and improved testing mechanisms.
