The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), which has a footprint in geosynthetics through the Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA), the Geosynthetics conference series, and Geosynthetics magazine, is rebranding. Effective June 1, the association will be known as the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA).

Founded 110 years ago as the National Tent & Awning Association, the entity has undergone steady evolution over the years with international growth, events, and new divisions created as markets have developed in the technical textiles field. It has been known as IFAI for the past 40 years.

In a May 17 press release, IFAI notes that the name change was approved with strong support. More than 85% of association members voted in favor of the rebrand to ATA.

THE ADVANCED TEXTILES ASSOCIATION

With the new name, the existing IFAI website identity will transition to www.textiles.org. The site is already active.

The association notes in its release that renaming itself as the Advanced Textiles Association “reflects the evolving textile industry and is designed to position the association to meet the needs of its members and the industry as a whole … with the goal of ensuring the association is well-positioned for the future.”

Follow the latest at the ATA’s website. The updated branding will be shared with the field soon.
