When ASTM Committee D35 on Geosynthetics meets in San Antonio, Texas (27-29 January 2010), the gathering will include a Geosynthetic Research Institute (GRI)/D35 joint workshop on durability.
The workshop–“Geosynthetic Material Durability: Field and Laboratory Experiences”–will be held on 29 January (8:00 am – 5:00 pm). The topics to be presented are as follows:
- Laboratory Weathering of Various Types of Geomembranes
- Predicting UV Durability of Exposed Geosynthetics with QUV Weatherometer Data
- Service Lifetime Assessments of Hypalon, HDPE, fPP, PVC, and VLDPE Geomembranes
- Parametric Transitions in the Determination of Exposed HDPE Geomembrane End of Life
- Case Histories of Exposed HDPE
- Case History of HDPE Geomembrane Durability
- PVC Durability: 15 Year Exposed Case History
- The Flaking Failure of a Water Reservoir’s Geomembrane Floating Cover and Liner
- Engineering Properties of Geosynthetics Exhumed from Final Covers for Waste Containment
- Nanocomposite Resin and Their Effects on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Geosynthetics
- Long-Term Field Study of Nonwoven Geotextiles in Earthern Flood Control Dams
- The Long Term Durability of Polyester Based Geosynthetics after 20-30 Years of Field Service
