Bernardi Joins Strata Systems as Director of Engineering

Strata Systems, Inc.has made another big addition to its team, adding Michael Bernardi, P.E. to a role as Director of Engineering. Bernardi has extensive reinforcement design experience, including 30+ years in the field and serving as the technical editor of the National Concrete Masonry Association’s “Design Manual for Segmental Retaining Walls,” 3rd Edition (2010).
In an announcement on the hiring, Strata Systems noted that Bernardi has been involved with “[the] mechanically stabilized earth structures industry since its beginnings. He has significantly contributed to industry design manuals … [and] he has designed more than 10 million square feet of geosynthetically-reinforced retaining walls, steep slopes, and embankments.”
Bernardi is also active in industry-supporting committees, such as serving as a board member of the North American Geosynthetics Society and on ASTM Committee D35 on Geosynthetics (with a focus on connection testing subcommittee work).
He has been involved in standards creation, engineering design software development, product development, and more.
In his capacity as Director of Engineering, Bernardi will provide technical leadership for the company’s growing portfolio of products, systems, and projects through Strata USA, Strata India, and Geo Solucoes (Strata Brazil).
