A man in British Columbia, Canada is calling a public meeting at which he intends to make his case for using a slurry of fine ground limestone and calcium hydroxide to treat a heavily polluted former copper mine on Vancouver Island rather than the bituminous geomembrane capping system that has been selected. The man, Cliff Rennie, is president of Clibetre Exploration Ltd., and has been a frequent vocal critic of government remediation policies.
