After nearly two decades in engineering roles in North America and Asia with a global leader in geosynthetics manufacturing, Boyd Ramsey is taking on a new challenge: developing an engineering consultancy. The firm, Boyd Ramsey Consulting LLC, officially opened as the calendar year turned to 2017.

Ramsey is well-known for his high-level work with GSE Environmental, which saw him take part in the design and selection of geosynthetic containment systems for major installations such as the Fresh Kills project in New York and Hong Kong’s NENT facility. Other major projects have included the Savannah River Superfund site and disposal facilities at the Oak Ridge and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories.
Beyond his professional responsibilities with GSE, Boyd Ramsey has also been very active in volunteer roles with the field of geosynthetics. He is an elected council member of the International Geosynthetics Society and co-chairs the IGS Technical Committee on Barriers. He has also served on the Geosynthetic Institute board of directors and chaired the Geosynthetic Materials Association.
In 2016, he received the IGS Service Award honor from IGS North America for his leadership in the return of the Educate the Educators program.
