IECA - EC1230 March 2011 – The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is calling for submissions for Environmental Connection 2012 (EC12), annual conference and expo of IECA. Combining quality education with a world-class expo, EC12 is the premier gathering place for the erosion and sediment control community. EC12 will be returning to Las Vegas, NV, 26-29 February 2012.

Training is the cornerstone of Environmental Connection. This year, IECA is focusing on bringing more upper-level training to the erosion and sediment control and stormwater management communities. IECA will still provide the fundamentals for anyone interested in expanding their business into the industry, but realizes that more advanced courses are necessary to keep attendees informed and compliant. Recommended hot topics for EC12 include: Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELGs) and Potential Impacts to New State Permits; Strategies for Meeting ELGs on Construction Sites; Active Versus Passive Treatment for Lowering Turbidity; Wetland, Riparian and Soil Restoration; Issues Related to Mining Operations; and Procedures and Specification for BMPs Selection and Installation. The deadline to submit an abstract is 27 May 2011.
