The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) today released the complete version of the Annual Energy Outlook 2010 (AEO2010), which includes 38 sensitivity cases that show how different assumptions regarding market and policy drivers affect the Reference case projections that EIA previously released in December, 2009. In addition to considering alternative scenarios for oil prices, economic growth, and the uptake of more energy-efficient technologies, the AEO2010 includes cases that examine the impact of changes in selected policies, such as the extension of existing policies that are currently scheduled to sunset as well as the sensitivity of natural gas shale production to variations in drilling activity and the size of the resource base.

In the latest financial report, the company president Peter Nilsson notes: "Demand during the quarter remained favorable in most segments. We are continuing to enhance our market positions. Growth was highly satisfactory, notably in China and India. Organic sales rose 13 percent. Study of Disinfectants on PE Pipe Completed – Report Now Available

The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. (PPI) today announced that an analysis has been completed on the potential effects of disinfectants on potable water supply polyethylene (PE) pipe. The findings are now available to the industry in a report posted online. Commissioned by the PPI and The Alliance for PE Pipe, the study, conducted by Jana Laboratories, examines the various areas of a potable water system including chlorination, durability, oxidative aggressiveness, temperature and pressure/stress. Case studies of actual systems encompassing a range of operating conditions, scope of service and system life were also included. Ontario, Canada-based Jana Laboratories is a world-recognized authority on testing and evaluating the effects of disinfectants on pipe materials. Read more.

The city of Franklin, Tennessee's 30-acre reservoir has been leaking for a number of years. An estimated 1 million gallons leaks from it each day. But crews will soon begin to drain the reservoir ahead of a three-month crack repair plan.
